Spacer Bar Options

Eccotech Units are available with Black Spacer as our standard product.

*Silver spacer is available on request.

Spacer bar is available in the following widths only:

6mm - (Not available for Argon filled or Colonial Application in 6mm)
8mm - (Not available for Colonial Application in 8mm)
10mm
12mm
14mm
16mm

Insulating value increases with spacer width up to a maximum of 14mm - 16mm for air filled IGU.

Size Limitations

When specifying and ordering IGU's you must consider the following:

Wind load and Snow Load requirements allowed for and conforming to NZS Standards.
Human Impact requirements allowed for and conforming to NZS Standards.
Limitations of product raw glass stock sheet size.
Ordering of large units and the actual capabilities of safe handling them.
For large IGU please allow an extra day on production lead times.

(See attachment 3). This is a comprehensive table showing the normal maximum sizes, deflections and weight for Eccotech IGU combinations. For sizes, combinations and wind loads outside the normal scope of this chart, please submit enquires to Eccotech or your Merchant supplier.

Any units of less and 0.3m² in area will be charged as 0.3m²

Shapes and Templates

When ordering IGU other than rectangles or squares certain conditions will apply, and special consideration must be given to the way that these are ordered as follows:

All units other than rectangles and squares will incur a 10% surcharge.
All shapes must be capable of being contained in a rectangle or square within the dimensional limitations given in the size limitation section.
Eccotech IGU manufacturing process can manufacture regular, circular and triangular units. Also available is a range of standard irregular shapes that can be processed. These include arches, hexagons and various other geometric shapes.

All other shapes will require a customer supplied template that conforms to the following requirements:

Templates must be the exact shape and size required. No additions or subtractions are acceptable.
The material used must be rigid with all holes etc clearly indicated with dimensions wherever possible.
If safety glass is required the position and type of logo must be indicated on the templates.
All templates and/or drawings will be taken as viewed from the outside and processed accordingly.

Stepped IGU

This type of IGU is available, but on request only. Please contact your supplier first to discuss the types of options available.

Extra day required on production lead times.

Fan Holes or Cat Door Holes

Holes in IGU should be no less than 150mm in from any edge of the glass to the edge of the hole, However if this is not convenient we are able to produce a hole closer to the edge.

Eccotech Argon Gas Filled IGU

Argon gas filled IGU is available with an 8mm spacer being the absolute minimum.
Optimum performance of an Argon filled unit is when incorporated into a 12mm spacer.
Gas filling into "Eccotech Colonial IGU" is not an option available. The incorporation of colonial bars within the cavity of an IGU reduces the thermal performance of the IGU.

Eccotech Colonial IGU

Eccotech Colonial IGU bar system, offers aesthetic appeal without the hassles of cleaning and maintenance of external bars.

16mm wide x 8mm deep, rigid internal bar is clipped into place.
Can be powdercoated to match window frames
